Welcome 2009

Good morning quilters!

It seems as though I just put up all of the Christmas decorations and this week it was time for them to go back into hiding until next December. I do love to put everything out for the holidays which usually takes me about a week. Putting them away however is an entirely different story!! I try to have the house back together in a day.

I guess I have a "thing" for basket quilts. I love flowers and this little quilt just brightens up the room on a dreary winter day.

This is also a good time to move things around in the house. My very sweet husband lends a hand and moves the furniture for me until I decide on the perfect spot. I also like to move quilts around at the same time. You get a whole different perspective by changing quilts from one location to another.

The Christmas tree was in this corner and now it becomes a great place to display the treadle sewing machine that my Grandmother used to teach me to quilt. Little did either one of us know at the time in the early 1960's, that she gave me the gift of a life-long passion for quilting. Best of all, the machine is still in working condition.

The quilt displayed on the ladder is our picnic quilt. It's a little to chilly for picnics this time of year so it will stay put until Spring.

I'll be posting border flowers soon for our Blossom of Friendship BOM. Take care my friends and enjoy each day to the fullest.

As always,

Lynn

Lynn,
Love your basket quilt... Lovely...
Aren't you afraid your quilt in the window will fade with the sun light?

Hello Crissie,
Thank you for your kind comment about the basket quilt. Our dual-paned windows have a UV coating on them....but yes I've had some fading in the past. I just keep moving the quilts around and change their positions.

Dear Lynn!

Unfortunately, English is not my native language. Your basket is great! I like so much! But:)
I don`t understand about BOM - it will be new BOM at your blog?

Dear Titikaka,
The picture of the basket is not part of the block of the month. I was just showing decorating ideas using quilts. The block of the month is only the Blossom of Friendship quilt. Sorry about the confusion. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Darling basket quilt! Is there a pattern for it somewhere? Thanks! Amy

Dear Amylm,
I'm sorry to say that the store where I bought the pattern went out of business several years ago. The pattern was designed by one of the owners of Horsefeathers in Manteca, CA. The pattern was never mass-produced.

Is the photo in your posting for January a pattern that can be purcased? The one hanging on the wall.
It's so pretty ~
